If Danger Rating is Low or Moderate proper care must be taken to make sure your fire is away from structures and flammable materials such as trees and vegetation like grass or bushes. It is recommended to contain the fire to a burn barrel or fire pit to prevent spread.

Please avoid burning in high and extreme danger ratings. We realize fires for cooking food and sacred fires will be lit but making sure the fire is safe and contained is very important to stop it from spreading. Please use proper fire pits and exercise caution. Fires can spread especially quickly in dry conditions.

Have a supply of water ready when having a fire to help extinguish the fire when you are done. Do not leave fires unattended. If the fire does spread please call 911 right away. Do not try to extinguish it yourself unless it is safe to do so.
